About

Sêr Cymru National Research Network for Low Carbon, Energy and Environment (NRN-LCEE)

The NRN-LCEE is a major, pan-Wales research initiative funded by the Welsh Government and the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales. It is challenged to set a new impetus for research into the interactions between land, water, the provision of food and energy production.

The Network funds Fellowships and PhD studentships embedded into interdisciplinary and collaborative research consortia of Welsh Universities and other partners, that address a range of topics clustered around four main themes: 1) Sustainable intensification; 2) low carbon energy pathways, 3) the bio-economy; and 4) impacts and mitigation of climate change and human activities.

In addition to the core research activities, the Network funds and organises workshops and events, a Fellowship scheme for researchers returning to research after a career break, and a public lecture series aimed at bringing experts in current challenges and LCEE research areas to Wales.

More information about the Network can be found on our website: www.nrn-lcee.ac.uk.

Royal Society of Biology (RSB)

The Royal Society of Biology is a single unified voice for biology: advising Government and influencing policy; advancing education and professional development; supporting our members, and engaging and encouraging public interest in the life sciences.

The Society represents a diverse membership of individuals, learned societies and other organisations. Individual members include practising scientists, students at all levels, professionals in academia, industry and education, and non-professionals with an interest in biology.

More information about the RSB can be found on our website: www.rsb.org.uk.
