About the NRN-LCEE

This one-day event is free to attend and open to the public. It is organised by the Sêr Cymru National Research Network for Low Carbon, Energy and Environment (NRN-LCEE).

The NRN-LCEE is a major, £7 million pan-Wales research initiative to support excellent research into the interactions between land, water, the provision of food and energy production. The Network is funded by the Welsh Government and Higher Education Funding Council for Wales through the Sêr Cymru Programme.

One of the key aims of the NRN-LCEE is to encourage new researchers to come to Wales. To do this the Network funds Fellowships and PhD studentships embedded into interdisciplinary ‘Research Clusters’ between Welsh Universities and other partners, as well as Fellowships for researchers returning to academia after a career break. These talented individuals address diverse research challenges ranging from marine renewables to sustainable architecture, from energy storage through to dairy production. All of this broad range of projects are focussed on the sustainable management of natural resources.

In addition to our core research activities, the Network provides research development funding and organises public lectures, workshops and other events aimed at bringing experts in NRN-LCEE associated research areas to Wales. More information about the Network can be found on the website: www.nrn-lcee.ac.uk
